"Tungsten Capital" Renewal: Digital Intelligence Drives Leapfrog Development

Recently, according to People's Daily, in recent years, Dayu County has focused on developing three major industrial clusters: tungsten and non-ferrous metals, micron-nano powder new materials, and new energy and new energy vehicle components. The county has established a digital transformation leadership group and working team, built a "5G + Industrial Internet" platform system, and progressively advanced the digital and intelligent transformation of enterprises. Digital transformation is rapidly becoming a core engine for fostering new quality productive forces.

The "World Tungsten Capital" is undergoing profound changes. Dayu County, with the construction of the "Tungsten Industry Brain" as its core, has strengthened equipment interconnectivity and real-time data collection and analysis, driving the traditional tungsten industry toward high-end, intelligent, and green transformation.

Leveraging its provincial tungsten and non-ferrous metal deep-processing industrial base, Dayu County has developed the Hard Alloy Theme Industrial Park and the New Hard Alloy Industrial Park, and collaborated with Jiangxi University of Science and Technology to establish the Ganzhou Tungsten Industry Technology Research Institute, providing technical support for industrial development. Currently, the county has attracted over 100 related enterprises, forming a complete industrial chain covering "mining—rough processing—tungsten concentrate—ammonium paratungstate—tungsten oxide—tungsten powder—tungsten carbide powder—hard alloys—cutting tools—resource recycling." The Dayu non-ferrous metal new materials industrial cluster has successfully been included in the provincial industrial cluster list. From January to July this year, scale-above enterprises in the county's non-ferrous metal and new materials industries achieved revenues of 5.7 billion yuan, increased by 20.45% year-on-year.

In the micron-nano powder new materials sector, Dayu County has adopted a forward-looking approach to layout new tracks, using manufacturing digital transformation diagnostics as a tool to drive chain enterprises toward upgrading through digitalization. Leveraging the demonstration effect of leading enterprises, the county has successfully attracted projects such as Changlian Technology, Ruierde New Materials, and Aibei New Materials, forming a distinctive industrial chain from ultrafine powders, pilot bases, and MIM feedstocks to superhard, microwave, and soft magnetic materials, and further to aerospace coatings, energy storage materials, and microelectronic control equipment. Through collaborative mechanisms with Tsinghua University, South China University of Technology, and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology—linking "demand-driven—pilot verification—incubation and mass production"—multiple technological achievements have been successfully transformed using digital tools.

In the new energy sector, Dayu County has integrated digital intelligence as its core, completing "digital diagnostics" for scale-above lithium battery enterprises. Leveraging the support from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the county has established a new energy and new materials pilot base. Currently, Dayu County hosts 14 lithium battery and new energy enterprises, including 11 scale-above enterprises. Relying on leading enterprises like Dongteng Lithium Industry and Shengyuan New Materials, the county has facilitated the signing and implementation of multiple key projects, building a complete industrial cluster covering lithium ore mining, lithium battery materials, lithium battery manufacturing, new energy vehicle components, and recycling. From January to July this year, scale-above enterprises in the county's lithium battery and new energy industry achieved revenues of 3.193 billion yuan, increased by 16.6% year-on-year.

Currently, digital transformation for scale-above manufacturing enterprises in Dayu County has achieved full coverage, with 105 enterprises completing in-plant diagnostics, 91 initiating transformations (including 20 at L6 level or above), and 64 completing standardization ratings (including 8 at L6 level or above). From January to July this year, the county had 104 scale-above industrial enterprises, with a total industrial output value of 9.68 billion yuan, increased by 13.8% year-on-year; operating revenue of 9.86 billion yuan, increased by 16.2% year-on-year, ranking second among the city's three types of counties; and a total profit of 250 million yuan, increased by 21.4% year-on-year, also ranking second among the city's three types of counties. Digital intelligence empowerment continues to inject robust momentum into the high-quality development of the county's economy.
