This week, Chinese rare earth prices have shown an upward trend overall.
At the beginning of the week, prices were significantly raised by major rare earth raw material suppliers, driven by factors such as the quarter-on-quarter increase in northern rare earth concentrate transaction prices for Q1 2025, production shutdown preparations by some manufacturers, and strong production cost support. By the weekend, however, the price increase rate slowed due to insufficient downstream demand.
According to China Tungsten Online, as the Spring Festival holiday approaches, some rare earth permanent magnet material enterprises have started to reduce or halt production. Current market statistics show that:
Praseodymium-neodymium oxide prices rose by approximately RMB 11,000/ton from last week, an increase of 2.74%.
Praseodymium-neodymium metal prices increased by about RMB 15,000/ton, up 3.04%.
Terbium oxide prices rose by approximately RMB 160/kg, an increase of 2.76%.
Dysprosium oxide prices increased by around RMB 35,000/ton, up 2.13%.
55N neodymium-iron-boron blank blocks increased by approximately RMB 3/kg, a rise of 1.50%.
Praseodymium-neodymium prices in neodymium-iron-boron scrap increased by around RMB 19/kg, an increase of 4.56%.
These figures indicate a significant rise in the prices of rare earth raw materials and functional materials this week.
