This week, China rare earth price showed a continuous downward trend as a whole, mainly due to the low willingness of downstream users to receive goods, the decline in the listed prices of rare earths in the north this month, and the lack of confidence in suppliers to support prices.
According to Chinatungsten Online, the prices of praseodymium neodymium oxide, praseodymium neodymium metal, terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide dropped by about RMB 55,000/ton, RMB 60,000/ton, RMB 300/kg and RMB 100,000/ton respectively this week.
The main reasons for the poor market demand are: it is currently in the off-season of traditional consumption, so consumers have low desire for inquiries and purchases; the downstream industries of rare earths such as the automotive industry, wind power industry and consumer electronics industry have insufficient driving ability, resulting in rare earths. The amount of functional materials is declining; in the current market in a relatively sluggish situation, many buyers believe that the price of rare earth raw materials will be difficult to stop falling in the short term, so they are not in a hurry to replenish.
However, due to the recent frequent high temperature and rainstorm weather, the production capacity release of rare earth mining enterprises has slowed down. In addition, the import of overseas mines has been hindered, and the spot inventory in the market has been reduced. In addition, supported by production costs, some suppliers have increased their awareness of price support. , Suspend quotations, mostly wait and see.
In terms of news: customs data shows that from January to June 2022, the country exported a total of 26,235.0 tons of rare earths, an increase of 10.1% year-on-year; the export value was 3.54 billion yuan, an increase of 82.6% year-on-year; of which 4,265.3 tons were exported in June, with an export value of 510 million yuan . From January to June, China imported 60,140.5 tons of rare earths, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9%; the import value was 710.5 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 1.2%.
