China Rare Earth Price - May 27, 2022

China rare earth price was tepid in the week ended on Friday, May 27, 2022. In the light rare earth market, the price of praseodymium and neodymium products fluctuated and rose, mainly due to the gradual improvement of the epidemic situation in Shanghai and other places, prompting many industrial enterprises to slowly resume production and the enhancement of port traffic capacity. The recovery of port traffic capacity is conducive to the increase in the export of rare earth raw materials in my country. However, with the increase in the price of raw materials, the profitability of rare earth downstream enterprises will decrease, which greatly reduces the desire of buyers to enter the market for consumption.

In the medium and heavy rare earth market, the overall situation is stable and weak. The low willingness of downstream users to receive goods and the poor expectation of global economic growth are the main reasons why it is difficult for suppliers to raise their quotations. However, in the medium and long term, the new energy market is affected by the optimistic development prospects and the difficulty in increasing the supply of heavy rare earth raw materials, the decline in product prices is limited.

News: Recently, Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Zone has signed 21 major projects, with a total investment of 17.625 billion yuan. These contracted projects involve six major industries, namely 6 equipment manufacturing industry projects with an investment of 13.55 billion yuan, 3 new energy industry projects with an investment of 740 million yuan, and 9 rare earth new materials and application industry projects with an investment of 3.208 billion yuan. 1 industrial project with an investment of 130 million yuan, 1 big data industry project with an investment of 70 million yuan, and 1 energy conservation and environmental protection industry project with an investment of 100 million yuan.
