China Rare Earth Price - April 8, 2022

China rare earth price continued to decline in the week ended on Friday, April 08, 2022. Under the influence of many uncertain factors, the buyer's market has a greater advantage, which is mainly reflected in the strong bearish sentiment in the market. 

At present, the price of neodymium oxide has fallen below 1,000,000 yuan/ton, while the prices of terbium oxide and praseodymium neodymium oxide are approaching 13,000 yuan/kg and 900,000.00 yuan/ton respectively.

From the perspective of positive factors, due to the repeated epidemics in many places, poor weather, limited energy supply and the full launch of the second round of the sixth batch of central ecological and environmental protection inspectors, many rare earth manufacturers are subject to certain restrictions on their production. The import volume of rare earth mines in Shanghai is limited, and the growth rate of spot inventories in the market is even slower, which can support suppliers' confidence in quotations to a certain extent.

From the perspective of negative factors, under the influence of the continuous spread of the global epidemic and the greater external geo-risks, the growth rate of rare earth downstream industries such as automobiles and smartphones has slowed down recently, which will largely affect the amount of rare earth permanent magnet materials, and the current rare earth prices are still relatively high, buyers are less proactive in receiving goods.
