China Rare Earth Price - Feb. 18, 2022

China rare earth price was generally at a high level in the week ended on Friday, February 18, 2022. At the beginning of the week, affected by the limited inventory of raw materials and the increase in downstream demand, the prices of praseodymium neodymium and dysprosium terbium products rose significantly. 

At the end of the week, limited by the lack of purchasing power of buyers, the price growth of praseodymium neodymium and dysprosium terbium products has slowed down, and even some rationally lowered. At present, the prices of praseodymium neodymium oxide and praseodymium neodymium are about 1,100,000 yuan/ton and 1,380,000 yuan/ton respectively, and the prices of terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide are about 15,200 yuan/kg and 3,150,000 yuan/ton respectively.

According to Chinatungsten Online, the main reason for the difficulty in increasing the supply of rare earth raw materials is that due to the strong environmental protection control, low temperature, insufficient energy supply and the continued spread of the epidemic in some areas, the production of rare earth smelting and separation enterprises has been limited; The main reasons for the increased enthusiasm for inquiries and purchases are that downstream manufacturers have resumed work and production after the Spring Festival and are driven by the good development prospects of the new energy market.

News: According to statistics from the China Rare Earth Industry Association, the rare earth price index has continuously hit a record high, up 24.78% from the beginning of this year. The price of light rare earths has risen from 930,000 yuan per ton to the current 1.1 million yuan per ton after the holiday, and the cumulative increase after the Spring Festival has reached 18%.
