Stuhini Exploration Ltd. has defined a one-kilometer-long gold trend from the historic Adanac molybdenum resource southwest along the Thor ridge. The ridge hosts numerous veins, including the Black Diamond and Emil veins. Surface sampling along this trend has confirmed the presence of gold, copper, silver, and tungsten mineralization. Current work also intersected primary gold in two historically expropriated drill holes (AD390 and AD393) in 2008.
The Mineral Deposit Research Unit (MDRU) at the University of British Columbia has conducted detailed analytical work on gold intersections from drill holes AD-393 and AD-390. Using scanning electron microprobe (SEM) and automated mineralogical procedures, an Ag-Au deposit consisting of approximately 50% Au and 50% Ag was identified. Many other localities with similar sulfide compositions also contain wolframite in a 20 mm to submm wide quartz vein within Surprise Lake Batholith (AD-390 at 34.6 m).
The sub-vertical structures and black diamond veins identified on Thor Ridge are consistent with the drilling trend. It is speculated that these higher-grade gold-bearing structures are in the vicinity of potential large tonnage gold targets intersected in expropriation drilling and may be similar to Victoria Gold's Eagle gold deposit in the Northern Yukon.
The 28,631 hectare Ruby Creek Project is located 14 km east of Atlin, British Columbia, and is accessible by road. There are 48 different recorded mineral occurrences on the project, 16 of which are gold-related, with seven significant gold streams. The property also hosts the historic Ruby Creek molybdenum resource, which holds a full British Columbia Mining Act license. Stuhini has an option to acquire 100% of the Ruby Creek project subject to a 1% net smelter royalty.
