Aldoro Resources Rising Hopes for Rubidium at Wyemandoo

Aldoro Resources reports that sampling at its Wyemandoo project in Western Australia has shown highly anomalous levels of rubidium (Rb). Rb is used in a range of industrial applications, including fiber optic cables, GPS systems, and specialty glass in night vision equipment, and potentially in the future for sodium-ion batteries.

Chinese battery giant CATL is currently working on sodium-ion battery technology, which is said to have a lower energy density than lithium-ion batteries but is faster to charge and more resilient at low temperatures. 80 of the 275 rock chip samples collected so far have been analyzed in the field by portable X-ray fluorescence analysis (pXRF), Aldoro said.

Aldoro reports that rubidium levels appear to be highly anomalous in all but a few samples, with peak readings of 1.71% and an average of 0.24%. However, the company warns, "These results are not representative and must be used as a preliminary indicator only."

Wet chemistry results from an accredited laboratory are needed to confirm these results. Last week, Aldoro said it found more than 1,000 dyke-like features in the Fairway corridor of the Wyemandoo Li and Rb project and is currently planning a large-scale sampling program.

Aldoro Resources has now completed sampling in the Loop pegmatite and two high-priority areas where previous samples identified Li and Rb anomalies in the Fairway Corridor. Pegmatite outcrops in the middle of the Fairway Corridor contain lepidolite and other mica.

In July, the Company expanded its Windimurra lithium pegmatite footprint near Mt Magnet by acquiring the adjacent Wyemandoo and its pegmatite dike and Niobe tantalum lithium mine.

The company said the new land contains high grades of lithium, cesium, tantalum and tungsten, with rock chips containing up to 2.6 percent lithium oxide, along with up to 5,610 ppm tantalum oxide and up to 16.5 percent tungsten oxide.

Wyemandoo is located 80 km southeast of Mt Magnet, Western Australia and covers an area of 9 km2. Several pegmatites have previously been mapped and sampled in the southwest corner of the permit area. This development follows Aldoro's announcement of the discovery of two key nickel-copper veins at its Narndee nickel-copper-platinum group element project in Western Australia.

Aldoro Resources Ltd is an ASX-listedmineral exploration and development company. Aldoro has a collection of nickel/copper/PGM focused exploration projects and advanced rubidium exploration projects all located in Western Australia. The Company’s flagship nickel/copper/PGM project is the Narndee Project, initial drilling of the first of over a dozen targets has successfully intersected nickel sulphides which is an encouraging start to the drilling campaign.
