China Molybdenum Price - November 12, 2021

China molybdenum price has continued to decline as a whole in the week ended on Friday, November 12, 2021. In the context of a serious imbalance between supply and demand, most traders have a relatively pessimistic mentality, which is mainly reflected in the sharp decline in the price of many molybdenum products and the scarcity of new orders.

This week, molybdenum concentrate price fell by about 110 yuan/ton, ferromolybdenum price fell by about 8,000 yuan/ton, and molybdenum powder price fell by about 8 yuan/kg.

In the molybdenum concentrate market, product prices are mainly affected by the relationship between supply and demand. The low enthusiasm of downstream users to receive goods and the increase in molybdenum concentrate output since July and August all contributed to suppliers’ confidence in price stability. The current transaction price of molybdenum concentrate is basically below 2,000 yuan/ton.

In the ferromolybdenum market, the market is not good. In the case of steel companies entering the bidding volume and price, the quotations of ferromolybdenum merchants are generally lowered rationally. However, due to the sharp decline in the price of molybdenum concentrates, the risk of inversion faced by suppliers is also reduced. The current price of ferromolybdenum has fallen below RMB 140,000/ton.

In the molybdenum chemical and its products market, product prices have fallen along with the decline in the selling prices of raw materials. Coupled with the gradual decrease in undelivered orders and the general demand from end customers, suppliers’ confidence in prices is even more inadequate.
