China’s Ferro Molybdenum Price - October 11, 2021

China’s ferro molybdenum price edges lower while molybdenum concentrate and power prices are unchanged at the beginning of the week. In the case of the National Day holiday and the overhaul of some steel companies has ended, the activity of inquiries and purchases in the market has increased, so the mentality of shareholders has gradually improved.

However, due to some consumers' fear of heights and risk aversion, the price increase of many molybdenum chemical products is slightly weak. The current price of molybdenum concentrate is basically around 2,350 yuan per ton, and the prices of ferromolybdenum and molybdenum oxide are respectively stalemate at 157,000 yuan/ton and 2,460 yuan/mtu, molybdenum powder price stands at 316 yuan/kg, a small amount of transactions have been reached.

News: In the first half of 2021, global stainless steel crude steel production increased by approximately 24.9% year-on-year to 29.026 million tons. From a regional perspective, Europe increased by about 20.3% to 3.827 million tons, the United States increased by about 18.7% to 1.277 million tons, and mainland China increased by about 20.8% to 16.243 million tons. Asia (mainly India, Japan and Taiwan) increased by about 25.6% to 3.725 million tons, and other regions (mainly Indonesia, South Korea, South Africa, Brazil, and Russia) increased by about 53.7% to 3.953 million tons.
