Rare earth price in China continues to edge lower on August 18, 2021. The price of neodymium oxide has dropped by about 10,000 yuan/ton, praseodymium neodymium oxide has dropped by about 3,000 yuan/ton, and terbium oxide drop by about 50 yuan/kg.
From the point of view of negative factors, first, downstream rare earth separation companies and magnetic materials companies still have a certain amount of inventory, so the current demand is relatively weak and cautiously receive goods; second, the prices of NdPr and dysprosium terbium products rose rapidly in the early stage, which led to increased consumer fear of heights and slower order growth.
From the point of view of negative factors, first, the current product prices are still relatively high, so the holders still have a large profit margin; the second is the increase in emergencies such as power cuts in many places, welcoming the Winter Olympics, and export restrictions in Myanmar. Under the influence, rare-earth smelting companies have had difficulties in mining and limited output, which has also become one of the sources of motivation for suppliers to firm up their quotations.
