China Cerium Oxide Prices - March 18, 2020

Rare earth market quotation in China: the latest of praseodymium oxide, cerium oxide and praseodymium neodymium oxide prices maintain stability when market trading increases slightly. 

The prices of light rare earth products may bottom out at present. Due to the impact of the epidemic in the early stage, the release of production capacity of mainstream products has not been significantly controlled, which has caused prices to plummet. With the gradual reduction of the inventory of some downstream magnetic companies, and prices of most products have approached the cost line, the quotations have been adjusted upward slightly. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, it is still features high prices and tight supply. Though the demand side is weak, suppliers are not willing to cut profits. 

Baotou City's Bureau of Industry and Information Technology said that the price of five kinds of rare earth products that were monitored in February was flat on a month-on-month basis. The average price of rare earth carbonate was 21,000 yuan per ton, which was flat month-on-month; a year-on-year decrease of 2,000 yuan per ton, a drop of 8.7%; the average price of cerium oxide was 1,1,500 yuan per ton, which was flat, a year-on-year decrease of 1,500 yuan per ton, a drop of 11.5%; The average price of neodymium metal was 360,700 yuan per ton, which was a decrease of 6,333 yuan per ton from the previous month, a decrease of 1.7%, and a year-on-year decrease of 37,000 yuan per ton, a decrease of 9.2%.
