Rare Earths Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences Strategic Cooperation Agreement Signed in Jiangxi

Rare Earths Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences co-building strategic cooperation agreement meeting was held in Nanchang on October 18. The People's Government of Jiangxi Province and the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement for the Establishment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Rare Earth Research Institute” and unveiled the Lushan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Libin Xiang, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced the main contents of the cooperation agreement for the Research Institute of Rare Earths of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from four aspects: cooperation purpose, organizational structure and operation mode, and investment and promotion plans. The first step is to build a research institute of rare earths in Jiangxi province, and under the name of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to start construction, to form a scientific and technological team led by the academician at the same time. The scale of scientific research personnel reaches 600-1000 people. The second step is to strive to convert the Research Institute of Rare Earths into a central business legal entity directly under the Chinese Academy of Sciences during the preparatory period. The third step is to strive to lead the country laboratory with the institute.

Xiaojun Wu, the member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and deputy governor, introduced the preparatory work for the Rare Earths Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences strategic cooperation. He emphasized that it is necessary to achieve three re-emergences in specific work: First, make efforts to improve the mechanism. At the leadership level, a work leading group was set up to promote the implementation of the Rare Earths Research Institute, and a work promotion group was set up to specifically responsible for the promotion and implementation of various work. The second is to reinforce the measures taken. According to the requirements of the cooperation agreement, Jiangxi province will make various guarantees in terms of manpower, capital, and materials. The third is to exert further efforts in industrial development. Focusing on rare-earth permanent magnets, rare-earth luminescence, rare-earth catalysis, rare-earth polishing, rare-earth ceramic materials, and rare-earth alloys. Strengthen research on rare earths and use technology to tackle key problems, using technological research to accelerate the implementation of major projects.
