Peter Wright Went Into the Final Day of Action at Gibraltar Darts Trophy

The lineup for the final day of action at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy has been confirmed with Michael van Gerwen, Mensur Suljovic and Peter Wright, Glen Durrant, Gerwyn Price and Joe Cullen through.

Meanwhile, Callan Rydz has won a second PDC Challenge Tour event of the season to put himself in a brilliant position going into the final day of action on the secondary tour.

Rydz defeated Cody Harris in the final 5-1 who himself can still get himself into the Tour Card spots especially with the vulnerability of players such as Cameron Menzies.

The Bedlington ace defeated the likes of Andrew Gilding and Aden Kirk en route towards the end to claim the title and goes top with £6,100 ahead of Jesus Noguera with the duo seemingly the players to beat.

Rydz has had the luck not on his side at times in recent years in winning a Tour Card despite his obvious talent and now he will hope to deliver once again tomorrow to join the tour full time.

Van Gerwen reeled off five consecutive legs to come from 3-1 down to edge past Jose de Sousa in a 6-3 win.

MVG averaged 103 and typically pounced on missed chances from De Sousa who when he started to miss ended up handing the initiative to Van Gerwen.

Suljovic also eased through with victory over Wessel Nijman in a 6-1 win where he hit a 96.5 average and 60 percent on the doubles.

As did Wright who thrashed Dyson Parody silencing the partizan crowd also in a 6-1 victory with him averaging 100.7 meaning ‘Dynamite’s dream run didn’t continue.

Cullen saw off Ritchie Edhouse in a 6-3 win with a 98.5 average and four 180’s as he bounced back from not having his equipment last time out which prohibited him.

Durrant battled back from 3-0 and 4-1 down to claim a 6-4 win over Chris Dobey in a terrific display from ‘Duzza’ who himself averaged 104.

Price whitewashed David Francis in a 6-0 win which saw him average 98 as he once again overwhelmed Francis like he did a few years ago in the same tournament.
