Tungsten Prices May Rise As China Launched Broader Environmental Checks

Analysis of latest tungsten market from ChinaTungsten Online

Chinese second environmental checks was launched on Monday August 20, which will conduct a comprehensive inspection on “2+26” cities, 11 cities in fen-wei plains and Yangtze River Delta region. The news makes market participants feel more confidence for market outlook.

However, new guide prices for China tungsten market were lowered. Zhangyuan Tungsten quoted wolframite concentrate at $15,230.8 per ton, down $307.7 per ton from the first month; scheelite concentrate was quoted at $15.000 per ton, down $307.7 per ton; APT was quoted at $279.9 per mtu, down $7.0 per ton. Xiamen Tungsten declined APT offer price by $7.0 per ton to $279.9 per mtu.

Affected by that, insiders hold wait-and-see mood at present. Terminal customers enter the market slowly, limiting price rise. Enterprises’ quotations would hover around the guide prices of large tungsten enterprises.
