The reporter learned from the Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Department that the R&D team of Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Zone Enterprise Seagate Environmental Protection has made a breakthrough in the autonomous region’s major science and technology project "Industrial production and application of rare earth-based low-temperature flue gas denitration catalysts". The research and development of the low temperature SCR denitration catalyst powder laboratory have been completed, and the technology has the preliminary conditions for pilot scale up and industrialization.

The reporter recently learned from Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths that the new material research and development team of the institute successfully prepared fluorescent glass using rare earths as raw materials and calendered to prepare high-power white LED sample lamps for phosphors, setting a domestic precedent for this technology.

Including rare earth elements, China passed a law restricting exports of controlled items, allowing the government to act against countries that abuse export controls in a way that harms China's interests, state media said. Amid the China and US science technology war, the rare earths regarded as strategic materials, will face export controls, leading to soaring prices.
