China Rare Earth Price - December 25, 2020

China rare earth price continued to rise in the week began on Monday December 25, 2020 benefiting from the policy and increased demand from downstream magnetic materials companies and reduced production of smelting factories.

In the light rare earth market, the overall trading activity is acceptable. Before the arrival of New Year’s Day, downstream users' enthusiasm for stocking was slightly increased. In addition, the spot supply of some products was still tight, and traders were not willing to sell at low prices. the current price of neodymium oxide has risen to 500,000 yuan/ton, and the price of neodymium praseodymium oxide is about 404,000 yuan/ton.

In the heavy rare earth market, there is no significant change in market conditions for the time being. Supported by positive factors such as the expected improvement in the development of the new energy market, the continued contraction of supply in Myanmar, and the expected signal from the State Reserve, the holders generally maintain firm quotations. It should be noted that the prices of terbium products have been rising due to tight supply.
