Rare Earth Ranks First in French Media Listed Eight High-Tech Fields of China

Rare earth ranks the first place in an article of French "Les Échos" listing Chinese eight high-tech fields leading the world. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding, achievements in the high-tech field of China have also attracted attention. According to French media reported on October 4, through the grand military parade and party activities, the country has demonstrated its new strength in front of the world, especially in the field. The following are "eight examples."

No 1. Rare earth. The elements are found in almost all industrial production chains, and China provides 80 percent of the world's rare earth capacity.

No 2. Lithium battery. With a large number of lithium resources and cheaper labor than South Korea and Japan, the country has become a global leader in its field. Lithium batteries are indispensable for electric vehicles. The country possesses 60 percent of the global capacity. France and Germany launched a program in May to counter Chinese advantages in the battery field.

No 3. Renewable energy. In 2018, the Chinese new wind power installed capacity is 21 GW. According to the statistics of Wood Mackenzie, UK, by 2024, Chinese solar power generation will reach 370 GW, which is equivalent to 2.5 times the US and 15 times that of France.

No 4. The supercomputer. In the latest list of the world's top 500 supercomputers, China (219 units) is far ahead of the US (116 units), while France and the UK each have only 18 units. Chinese "Sunway TaihuLight" ranked first in the list of the world's top 500 supercomputers.

No 5. Space competition. In 2018, the country successfully achieved 35 rocket launches, more than any other country. At the beginning of 2019, Chinese detectors landed on the back of the moon. The country is still building a space station, which is expected to be put into use in 2022, while the US-led space station will be retired in 2024.

No 6. The patent application. In 2018, the State Intellectual Property Office of China received more than 1.5 million invention patent applications, and finally approved 432,000 pieces, which is very high compared to other developed countries (the US only approved 308,000 patent applications in 2018).

No 7. The information industry. Chinese graduates in Information Science are more than the US and Russia each year.

No 8. Artificial intelligence (AI). The Chinese face recognition device is very famous, but this is only a small part of Chinese efforts to surpass the US in AI. The country has clearly stated that it will be a global leader in AI by 2030, and today six of the world's eleven artificial intelligence large start-ups are in China.

China achieves great success in high-tech fields. Especially the country holds an irreplaceable position in the application of rare earth, and it uses rare earth properties to develop new materials. In the back-end application, continues to adhere to innovation and sustainable development, and blossoms areas of technological leadership.
