Tungsten Carbide Particles Approach

The present invention provides a method for treating tungsten carbide particles. Steps are as follows:

1) Provide W-C-containing particles of tungsten carbide-based material, its composition, microstructure and phase distribution is shown on the phase diagram, the phase diagram shows that a single-phase γ region having a face-centered cubic structure, the single-phase region upwards from the liquid phase line at the junction, and select the carbon content of the particles so that the thermal path through the single-phase region;

2) In the single-phase region of said raw material to homogenizing treatment, thereby obtaining a single-phase particles having a face-centered cubic structure;

3) Hardened tungsten carbide, the single-phase single-phase structure of the particles remain at room temperature.
