New Copper Tungstate Nano Adsorbent Material

Mining industry, as the pillar of our national economy, consumes a lot of water resources every year. At the same time, flotation treatment also produces a large number of flotation wastewater. Among them, sulfide flotation produces a large number of wastewater containing xanthate, xanthate is the most effective and widely used collector in sulfide flotation. Most xanthate will enter the foam product with the end of flotation. If residual xanthate is discharged directly without treatment, it will cause great harm to the environment.

At present, the treatment of xanthate wastewater at home and abroad mainly focuses on pollution control. Chemical decomposition, adsorption, biological decomposition and other methods have been applied to remove residual xanthate. These methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, but the performance and cost can not be balanced eventually, so it is necessary to explore a new and feasible material to remove residual xanthate from flotation wastewater.

It was found that copper tungstate, as a new nano adsorbent material with high efficiency, has good adsorptive capacity for xanthate. The preparation methods are as follows:

The primary solution was obtained by mixing copper sulfate with deionized water in a ratio of 1:5 and then ultrasonic for 5 minutes. Sodium tungstate and deionized water were mixed in a ratio of 1.2:5, and then the secondary solution was obtained by ultrasound for 5 minutes. The primary solution and the secondary solution are mixed in a ratio of 1:1, and then the mixed solution is obtained by ultrasound for 1 h. The mixed solution was aged for 12 hours, the aged solution was filtered, washed three times with deionized water, and then dried. The drying temperature was 70 ℃, and the drying time was 2 h. The primary solid product was roasted in the roaster, the roasting temperature was 500 ℃, the roasting time was 2 h, and then the primary solid product was dried. Copper tungstate adsorbent was obtained.

Copper tungstate adsorbents contain 52-61 wt% CuO, 25-30 wt% WO2, and the average particle size of copper tungstate is 0.4 um. The saturated adsorption capacity of copper tungstate on xanthate is much higher than that of other adsorbents for xanthate wastewater, such as activated carbon, resin and so on. It shows that copper tungstate, as an efficient new nano adsorbent material, has good adsorption capacity for xanthate and its saturated adsorption capacity on xanthate is much higher than that of activated carbon, resin and other adsorbents. The copper tungstate adsorbate has a CuO content of 52 to 61% by weight, a WO2 content of 25 to 30% by weight, and an average particle diameter of the copper tungstate particles of 0.4 μm. After testing, the saturated adsorption capacity of the copper tungstate to xanthate is much higher than that of activated carbon, resin and other adsorbents for xanthate wastewater, indicating that copper tungstate is a highly efficient new nano adsorbent material, which is very good for xanthate. The adsorption capacity of the yellow drug is much higher than that of activated carbon, resin and other adsorbents for xanthate wastewater.
