Cs Doped Tungsten Oxide Nanoparticles Applied for Functional Film

Cs doped tungsten oxide nanoparticles for producing functional film may be Cs0.32WO3 nanoparticles with excellent near-infrared shielding ability. However, there are still some critical issues for industrial applications, such as, photochromic instability - a blue color change of Cs doped tungsten oxide nanoparticles under ultraviolet irradiation. But do you know why CsxWO3 nano particles change color?

The color changes because of the formation of HxWO3 phase through doping of H+ ions into Cs-deficient sites present at the surface of Cs0.32WO3 nanoparticles. Then, how to solve this problem? Some experts have proposed a new approach to prevent the color change by synthesizing Cs0.32WO3 nano particles with less Cs-deficient sites using spray pyrolysis followed by heat treatment and short-time milling. The cesium tungsten oxide nanoparticles synthesized by this new solution are more suitable for preparing heat insulation coating, and the coating can be sprayed on the glass substrate to form a functional film, thereby changing an ordinary window into an energy-efficient window.
