CsxWO3 Film Applied for Near-infrared Shielding Material

CsxWO3 film is a popular near-infrared shielding material that is prepared on the surface of glass by dispersing the CsxWO3 powder into polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution. Wherein, cesium tungsten bronze (CsxWO3) powder was synthesized by hydrothermal method. The raw materials are sodium tungstate dihydrate and cesium carbonate, and the organic inducer is citric acid.

It is reported that the synthesized CsxWO3 powders were hexagonal Cs0.32WO3 crystals. And the film showed good near-infrared shielding properties at 1100 nm in the near-infrared region and high transmission rate in the visible light region. In addition, the CsxWO3 film showed good photochromic properties and the near-infrared shielding properties were further improved after ultraviolet irradiation. Especially, for the CsxWO3 samples synthesized in the precursor with higher concentration of citric acid, the improvement of near-infrared shielding performance of the film after UV irradiation was more obvious. The transmission rate of CsxWO3 film at 1100 nm in the near-infrared region had a decrease of 26% by comparison with the highest transmission rate in the visible light region.
