Electrochromism: Doped WO3 Film

Electrochromism can be referred to a phenomenon in which the reflectance, transmittance and absorptivity of doped WO3 film undergo a stable and reversible color change under the action of an applied electric field. Experts say that the electrochromic properties of tungsten trioxide will be effectively improved when the doping content is within a certain range.

At present, the doping of tungsten trioxide is mainly limited to one dopant. And there are few reports on multi-doping. For example, the doping of PEO can accelerate the conductivity of ions and electrons, thereby improving the discoloration performance of tungsten trioxide film. The doping of MoO3 can greatly improve the stability of the pure tungstic acid sol, thereby improving the spectral absorption characteristics of the pure tungsten trioxide film, and improving the response speed. Considering that organic-inorganic multi-doping can overcome the shortcomings of WO3 film in various aspects, its electrochromic performance can be further improved. Some experts have selected the method of simultaneous doping of organic and inorganic materials, and selected excellent precursors by studying the stability and film forming properties of sols of different components, so as to prepare organic-inorganic multi-doped WO3 electrochromic film with better electrochromic properties.
