WO3 Applied for WO3-TiO2 Electrochromic Film

WO3 is an inorganic electrochromic material that may be used to prepare a WO3-TiO2 electrochromic film, which is a functional material for the preparation of a smart window. Wherein, some experts made TiO2 doped WO3 electrochromic thin film by sol-gel method, and measured its cyclic voltammetry curve by electrochemical cyclic voltammetry device, thereby studying its electrochromic properties.

cyclic voltammetry curve of WO3-TiO2 electrochromic film picture

Cyclic voltammetry curve of TiO2-doped WO3 electrochromic thin film is shown in the above figure. The Ti concentrations of the samples a, b, c, and d were 0 mol%, 15 mol%, 25 mol%, and 40 mol%, respectively. It can be seen from the figure that with the increase of TiO2 content, the current peak value of the cyclic voltammetry curve changes obviously and gradually decreases. The current and charge density decrease with the increase of TiO2 content. When the content of TiO2 is less than 25mol%, the current density curve of the film is similar to that of pure WO3 film without TiO2, except that the peak range of current in the positive and negative directions of coloring and bleaching is narrowed. So, the charge density is reduced, and the absorption rate decreases. When the TiO2 content is more than 25 mol%, the peak range of the positive and negative directions of the film is only half of that when the film is not doped, and the color change efficiency is lowered.
