According to experts, an electrochromic device can be considered as an electrochemical cell, which is structurally similar to a sandwich with multilayer electrochemical devices in which each layer is in the form of a thin film. The structure of electrochromic devices is generally accepted by researchers as a typical 5-layer structure. The structure diagram of electrochromic device is shown in the above figure. From top to bottom, there are a transparent conductive layer, an electrochromic layer, an ion conductor layer (an electrolyte layer), an ion storage layer (a counter electrode layer), and a transparent conductive layer.
