The conventional process for preparing tungsten trioxide electrochromic film by electrochemical deposition method is as follows: use tungsten powder as a tungsten source, add tungsten powder into hydrogen peroxide to form peroxonated acid (PTA); place platinum black into PTA solution to remove excess hydrogen peroxide; add some stabilizer to dilute the sol concentration for  stabilizing the sol; by applying a negative pressure under the three-electrode condition, an amorphous tungsten trioxide can be deposited on the conductive substrate to which the working electrode is connected. The tungsten trioxide film produced by this method tends to be relatively dense, which is not conducive to the diffusion of ions. Also, to improve the cycle stability of the prepared electrode, annealing treatment is often required to obtain a crystalline tungsten trioxide electrochromic film. Therefore, electrodeposition of porous crystalline tungsten trioxide electrochromic film is the focus of current research.
