Cesium Doped Tungsten Oxide Nanopowder Applied for Thermal Insulation Coating

Cesium doped tungsten oxide nanopowder may be used for producing thermal insulation coating. The obtained coating is a transparent thermal insulation material with the performance of shielding near-infrared rays, which is widely used for thermal insulation of automobile and architectural glass. In recent years, it has been found that cesium doped tungsten oxide, i.e., cesium tungsten bronze, has excellent near-infrared absorption property, can absorb infrared rays of less than 1500nm, and has high visible light transmittance, so it has a large demand.

Certainly, transparent heat insulating materials include precious metals, carbon black compounds, rare earth hexaboride, indium tin oxide (ITO) and the like. However, these materials have different degrees of disadvantages. It is reported that films containing precious metals or carbon black compounds have relatively low visible light transmission. While rare earth hexaboride can only shield infrared rays of a specific wavelength. And the synthesis of rare earth hexaboride requires high temperature (1500°C) and vacuum environment. The indium tin oxide (ITO) film is a well-known transparent conductive film with thermal insulation, but it can only shield infrared light with a wavelength greater than 1500nm. In addition, indium is an expensive rare metal.
