7. Tungsten rhenium alloy: it has excellent low temperature plasticity and high temperature strength, which can be used as reduction furnaces in vacuum or hydrogen. 

8. Tungsten copper alloy: tungsten copper alloy is an alloy of tungsten and copper. The copper content of common alloy is 10%~50%. The alloy is prepared by powder metallurgy method with good conductivity, thermal conductivity, good high temperature strength and certain plasticity. It has a wide range of applications, most of which are used in aerospace, aviation, electronics, power, metallurgy, machinery, sports equipment and other industries. It also used as high voltage electrical switch for the manufacture of anti arc erosion of contact and the rocket nozzle throat and tail rudder and other high temperature components. Besides, it also used as electrode of EDM mold temperature and other occasions that require high temperature and thermal conductivity properties.

 

9. Refractory alloy: tungsten can form solid solution alloy with other high melting point elements such as niobium and tantalum. Tungsten can improve high temperature strength and creep resistance. However, if more than 10% of tungsten in tantalum and more than 15% tungsten in niobium, such alloy will lose its value. The industrial use of such alloys is of little value.

 

 

10. Metal infiltration of tungsten: this material doesn’t belong to alloy, it’s a mixture of two kinds of metal produced by powder metallurgy method, such as copper or silver. An alloy of high copper content that can be rolled or forged into wire or plate. Electrical contacts made from silver tungsten alloy have excellent arc resistance, excellent weldability, or electrical conductivity, and can be used in rocket nozzles and valves.

 

11. Other alloys: alloy containing 10%~17% platinum, 1%~3% iridium and 80%~89% tungsten can be used for making nib. An alloy containing 4% platinum and 96% tungsten can be used as an electrode for an electric spark plug of an aircraft engine. Other platinum tungsten alloys are used as electrical contacts.

 

Tungsten in the steel can form dispersed carbide phase. It can refine grain, improve high temperature hardness and the characteristics of steel, corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

 

Tungsten plays an irreplaceable role in the application of alloys in different industries and different fields, which has been more and more popular.
