Basic Skills of Darts

Like other sports, darts also pay attention to the correct way of holding and throwing, coordination between the arm and wrist, reasonable collocation targeting digit, and concentration. That means improving coordination ability of heart, eye, hand and brain.

To master the complete technology of darts, practitioners must carefully understand the essentials and basic skills. The basic skills of the dart consist of three basic movements: darts holding, standing postures and darts throwing.

Darts holding: Put the dart on the edge of the palm and find its center of gravity. Put the thumb on the center of gravity of one side of the dart, the index finger and middle finger are on the other side of the dart body, the ring finger on the lower part of the dart. Each finger is evenly forced, and the dart is naturally held, so that the dart can not fall off easily. It needs to keep the dart tip upward slightly, the dart must be held stable, but not too tight. It also needs at least three fingers to hold a dart. It’s certainly better to use more fingers, but you wouldn’t feel so smooth when you're casting darts, and more control will give you one more source of mistakes. Please attention that the fingers which do not hold the dart need to stretch, or remain the same position with other fingers. Clench fist will make the other fingers too nervous, and will make it more difficult to release, and easier to loiter to the dart that flies out, which affects the accuracy. Anything that meets the requirements above and skills of holding the darts for you is good.

Standing postures: stand behind the dart line, lean on one side, and the throwing hand is on front of the center of the dartboard. The angle of intersection between the front foot and the dart can be chosen between 0-90 degrees. Two legs are the same width with shoulders. Lean forward and press the center of gravity on the front legs (support legs);the hind leg (the balance leg) extends straight to the back of the body and balances on the toes. Face and front shoulder are right in front of dartboard. Eyes look at the target, with shoulders back, hip movement upwards, and the upper arm parallel to the shoulder, forearm lift naturally, elbow against right ahead so that the shoulder, upper arm, forearm and upper body can form a plane which is perpendicular to the direction of the center of a dartboard.

Darts throwing: all the action to force uniform, smooth, natural, coherent, and complete without pauses. At the same time, to grasp the appropriate time to dart. Throughout the throwing process, the movements of the small arm and hand should always remain flat in one plane. Except the hand, wrist and forearm, other parts of the body, including the shoulder must remain motionless

Darts skills described above are controversial. Like any sport, people need to constantly adjust their technique to the point where they feel comfortable, and you need to understand your features and learn slowly.
