Tungsten Scheelite Anionic Collector

Anionic collector is a collector that is adsorbed on the mineral surface after the dissociation of the active group of hydrophobic minerals. It is main type of tungsten scheelite collector. There are four catagories: fatty acid, sulfoacid, phosphoric acid and chelating agent.

Fatty agent is the mostly applied in tungsten scheelite flotation. Fatty agent is prepared by oil of flora and fauna. Plants oil has better collecting capacity than animal oil. The common applied fatty acid are oleic acid, linoleic acid or the combination of these two agent, palm oil and 731 paraffin oxidated soap.

Sulfoacid agent includes sulfoacid, sulfoacid salt and alkyl sulfate. These collector has emulsification function, mainly cooperate with application of fatty acid, enhance their dispersion function in mineral slurry, so as to enhance its collecting ability and avoid excessive amount of foam.

Phosphoric acid collector is composed by phosphomonoester and phosphate diester, it has strong collecting ability, can be used to capture apatite and scheelite in alkaline media.

Chelating collector includes salicylhydroxamic acid, naphthol hydroxamic acid, benzohydroxamic acid. It is efficient in dealing with poor grade mines. Due to its high price, it needs to use with regular agent such as nitride lead.

Every anionic collector has advantages and disadvantages. Oleic acid has good flotation ability but poor selectivity. 731 paraffin oxidated soap is quite the opposite. Chelating agent has high cost. So anionic collector is usually used in mixing form to promote its collecting ability and selectivity.
