Tungsten egg sinkers are shaped like an egg having a hole bored through their middle. The egg sinker was used in its place for live bait presentations before the walking sinker was born, and is still a favorite among catfish anglers.
The sinker is attached by threading the line through the hole. Egg sinkers generally slide along the line until their movement is stopped by a swivel or a split shot sinker. The sinker can be used with a rig and some anglers hold the sinkers in place using a split shot instead of a swivel.
