In the application of tungsten alloy for warheads, some researchers have found that coarse-grained tungsten alloy is not sensitive to strain rate during tough-brittle transition, while ultrafine-grained tungsten alloy is not sensitive to strain rate. Some researchers believe that the ductile-brittle transition of coarse-grained tungsten alloy is controlled by the movement of screw dislocations, while the toughness and brittleness of ultrafine-grained tungsten alloy may be related to the movement of edge dislocations. Other researchers have used ultra-fast discharge plasma sintering method after ball milling to prepare ultrafine-grained tungsten alloy with a grain size of 130 nm. The hardness can reach 12 GPa and the dynamic impact strength is 4.14 GPa.
