Tungsten Disulfide for Lubrication of Rotating Shaft in Notebook

Tungsten disulfide has high application value in the lubrication of rotating shaft in notebook. It can not only improve the lubricating performance and wear resistance of rotating shaft itself, but extend its service life, reducing the failure rate of notebook greatly.

Rotating shaft is the shaft used to connect the parts. It bears both bending moment and torque during operation. And this kind of rotating shaft is widely used in notebook.

During the use of notebook, rotating shaft is prone to wear. And this is caused by the metal characteristics of the shaft - poor deformability, poor impact resistance and poor fatigue resistance. In general, only when some abnormal phenomena such as high temperature of notebook, noise, etc., can we detect the shaft wear. However, the shaft is usually excessively worn at this time, resulting in notebook failure.

Therefore, only by improving the lubricating performance and wear resistance of the rotating shaft itself, can the failure of notebook be reduced. Tungsten disulfide is an ideal material for the lubrication of rotating shaft in notebook. Here is its performance as following as:

1. Good Lubrication Performance.

Tungsten disulfide has a layered structure and there is shear and slip between layers of tungsten disulfide. This kind of material has low friction coefficient of only 0.03. When applied on shaft surface, it can improve the lubricating performance of the shaft effectively.

2. Good High Temperature Resistance.

Tungsten disulfide can still maintain good lubricating performance under high temperature. Its working temperature range in normal conditions is between -270°C and 650°C. During the continuous rotating with temperature rise, tungsten disulfide can provide good lubrication for the shaft in notebook.

3. Good Wear Resistance.

At high temperature, tungsten disulfide can form a dense protective film of tungsten trioxide, which has low friction coefficient as well. It can help reduce the wear on shaft surface. When used on shaft surface, tungsten disulfide can improve the wear resistance of the shaft effectively.
