Nano tungsten disulfide can be processed by ball mill. This is a simple and low-cost method while the precision and size of nano tungsten disulfide are uncontrollable during the processing.
Ball mill is the common equipment for grinding. The material is crushed and mixed by the impact of the falling grinding body (such as steel ball, goose hatching stone, etc.) and the grinding action between the grinding body and the inner wall of the ball mill.
When the ball mill rotates, the grinding body rises and falls in the direction of rotation due to the friction between the grinding body and the inner wall of the ball mill. In this way, the material can be continuously crushed. As a material, nano tungsten disulfide is continuously pulverized in the ball mill.
Processing nano tungsten disulfide by ball mill has the following advantages:
1. Simple technology and good operating conditions. Crushing proceeds in a closed machine and produces no dust;
2. Reliable operation and low cost. The grinding body is cheap and easy to replace.
However, the above processing method has some problems as well:
1. Uncontrollable object precision and size. The material is crushed by the grinding action between the grinding body and the inner wall of the ball mill. When repeatedly subjected to the grinding compressive stress, a single particle is prone to the crack extension on the surface, causing it to break or produce plastic deformation. Moreover, when continuously crushed, the grinding material will have a limit value of its fineness. When it enters the limit range, the crushing effect becomes very difficult.
2. Low operation efficiency and large energy consumption. This is not conducive to large-scale industrial production.
3. Strong vibration and large noise during the operation.
4. Large friction loss between the grinding body and the ball mill. The product is easy to be stained during the friction process.
