Graphene is a new kind of carbon material, which is closely packed by carbon atoms into a single layer of two-dimensional honeycomb lattice structure. It is the basic unit of building the most commonly used solid lubricant-graphite. It has lower friction coefficient than graphite. It is a new kind of additive for self-lubricating antiwear coating.
In order to improve the wear reduction of graphene used in self-lubricating wear-resistant coatings and reduce the friction coefficient of Thermal Sprayed Tungsten Carbide coatings, the researchers have improved graphene, which includes:
1 g graphene oxide was weighed, 1000g absolute ethanol was added, mixing was evenly stirred, 50 g deionized water was added to mix. In the ultrasonic disperser, 10 mm amplitude rod was selected, the ultrasonic treatment time was 30 min, and the ultrasonic frequency was 10 Hz. The mixture of graphene dispersion was obtained, and the mass percentage of ammonium metatungstate (99%) and 1% were weighed respectively. 1 g tungsten-containing precursor mixture was added to graphene dispersion solution, stirred for 30 minutes, dripped anhydrous ethanol continuously in the stirring process with the amount of 18 g, then the precipitation was filtered out, heated at 70 ℃ in the oven, dried for 10 minutes, and the dried powder was placed. In the alumina crucible, a certain amount of H2 is passed through the tubular reduction furnace with the flow rate of H2 of l00sccm, heated to 700 ℃ at the heating rate of 5 ℃/min, holding time of 1 h, and finally cooled to room temperature through H2 to obtain modified graphene, which can be used as graphene modified tungsten carbide self-lubricating and wear-resistant additive.
Through improvement, tungsten carbide powder can be well compatible with modified graphene oxide to achieve a certain bonding strength. During the spraying process, graphene inside the powder will not be lost or damaged by high-temperature and high-speed flame flow, effectively retaining the content of graphene inside the coating and playing a greater role. Graphene is applied to the self-lubricating properties of graphene in self-lubricating wear-resistant coatings, which reduces the friction coefficient of thermal spraying tungsten carbide coatings. This improved material can be used in the spraying of aerospace engines and other equipment.
