How to Produce Tungsten Titanium Powder with Quality and Quantity Guarantee

In the sintering process of tungsten-titanium target, the importance of production of tungsten and titanium powder is obvious. The properties of tungsten titanium powder greatly affect the properties of tungsten-titanium products. With the increasing demand of the market, the production of tungsten titanium powder has not only the requirements of chemical purity, but also the requirements of physical and technological properties. In particular, the preparation technology of ultra-fine tungsten titanium powder for some special purposes needs to be solved.

There are many processes for the production of tungsten titanium powder, one of which is the preparation of tungsten titanium powder by hydrogen reduction reaction using titanium oxide and tungsten trioxide as raw materials; the traditional hydrogen reduction process is that tungsten trioxide and titanium oxide obtained by roasting raw materials are reduced to tungsten titanium powder through two stages, and tungsten titanium powder is prepared by traditional process in the presence of tungsten titanium powder. Described problems: 1. Low reduction temperature, long reaction time and time-consuming; 2. Using tubular reduction furnace, equipment is complex and energy-saving; 3. Product purity is low, and it is difficult to continuous production.

In order to solve the above technical problems, the following technical solutions can be adopted. The process is simple and the preparation time is short. The main contents include:

300g ammonium tungstate was added to 2L distilled water, heated to 80 ℃ to dissolve ammonium tungstate, then 55 mL butyl titanate and 200 mL isopropyl ester were added to ammonium tungstate solution; 36g hydrochloric acid was allocated into solution, slowly dripped into the above solution, and magnetic stirred for 30 minutes at room temperature; stirred uniformly and placed in a high-pressure reactor lined with polytetrafluoroethylene. In the process, the reactor is put into the oven at 100 ℃ for 20 hours; the reactor is cooled to room temperature, filtered and washed repeatedly with distilled water and anhydrous ethanol; the precipitate is dried in the oven at 60 ℃ for 9 hours and then burned in the muffle oven at 450 ℃ for 3 hours; and the powder is placed in the plasma reaction chamber at 75V working voltage. Argon is ionized by arc current of 600A. The heating temperature of tungsten trioxide and titanium oxide powders by plasma is about 1300 ℃. The average particle size of titanium-doped tungsten powder is 38 nm.

After preparing tungsten oxide and titanium oxide with ammonium tungstate, butyl titanate, isopropyl ester and hydrochloric acid, tungsten titanium powder is prepared by plasma arc method. Because of the great temperature difference between tungsten titanium powder and cooling medium, the nucleation is promoted and the growth of crystal nucleus is effectively inhibited. The tungsten titanium powder can reach nanometer level. The process is relatively simple, the preparation time is short, and the scale production is easy to achieve.
