"As anyone in the industry knows, wire cutting can be broadly divided into three categories -- slow-speed, medium-speed and fast-speed," he said, “Among them, the slow-speed wire has the highest technical content (or the highest processing precision), which also means that its research and development costs will be higher than the other two linear cutting machine tools, and correspondingly, the price of the machine produced will be higher. Namely, the cost of slow-speed wire is the highest among the three types of wire cutting machines, thus its cost performance is really small! Therefore, most wire-cutting enterprises can only choose domestic medium-speed wire cutting machine. Of course, except for some manufacturers which have the requirements of high precision, they will choose the slow-speed wire cutting machine due to their product requirements.

And the machine operator said:" although the price of fast-speed wire linear cutting machine is the cheapest of the three kinds of linear cutting machine, its processing precision is relatively too low to meet the demand of domestic enterprises for precision processing, even if its cutting speed is fast!"

He finally said: "the cutting speed, precision, and price of medium-speed wire cutting machine are in the middle level, so most enterprises will choose it. To be specific, actually, the cutting speed of the medium-speed wire-cutting machine is not slower than that of the fast-speed wire-cutting machine, but higher than that of the fast-speed wire-cutting machine. It will reduce its speed in the process of repeated cutting to achieve the purpose of cutting. In addition, the processing quality of the medium-speed wire cutting machine tends to be that of the slow-speed wire cutting machine. It reduces the error caused by material deformation and molybdenum wire-loss through repeated cutting, so that the processing quality of the workpiece is relatively improved, which is between fast-speed wire and slow-speed wire. Therefore, at present, in terms of the Chinese market, the medium-speed wire cutting machine is on the mainstream!”

What is medium-speed wire cutting?

The so-called medium-speed wire cutting is commonly known as medium-speed wire cut electrical discharge machining(MS-WEDM), which realizes multiple cutting function in high-speed reciprocating wire cutting machine. "Medium-speed wire" can be used to process complex cavities and curved shape of various conductive bodies, such as precise parts, moulds, electrodes, carbide, hardened steel, structural steel, titanium alloy and diamond.

What is wire cutting molybdenum wire?

The above mentioned medium-speed wire cutting can reduce the error caused by material deformation and molybdenum wire loss through multiple cutting. What does molybdenum wire do?

The molybdenum wire here is the thin metal wire (electrode wire) that moves continuously when the workpiece is processed by the linear cutting machine. Except the function of being used as wire cutting electrode wire for various non-ferrous metal, steel and magnetic material cutting, molybdenum wire has many other uses.
