Design and Manufacture of Tungsten Carbide Die

Today, mold manufacturing equipment is fully automated mold preparation, getting rid of the past expensive and imprecise manual preparation methods. Because of the characteristics of tungsten carbide, such as high hardness, good wear resistance, bending strength and poor impact resistance, it is difficult to design and manufacture the tungsten carbide die. It is also a difficult problem for the development. Therefore, some practical experiences and methods in the design and manufacture of tungsten carbide are introduced for reference.
 
Several Issues to Be Considered:

When the structure of the punch is weak, and it is difficult to process or fix, the rational tool steel and the tungsten carbide can be used together to make the mold manufacture and use most reasonable and economical. The terrace die of tungsten carbide tool steel is usually treated by soft nitriding after quenching.
 
(3) The structure of the concave and convex die. Under the permissible conditions of die processing, the mosaic structure is more economical, easy to process and easy to repair and so on.
