Horizontal Planetary Ball Mill

Planetary ball mill is a high energy ball mill, which is mainly used in the preparation of ultrafine tungsten powder. Planetary ball mill has two types: vertical and horizontal.

Horizontal planetary ball mill is the first planetary ball mill structure developed in china. It is symmetrically equipped with four horizontal ball milling tanks on a vertical plane turntable. When the turntable rotates (revolution), the ball mill rotates in its opposite direction around its central axis. Because the ball milling tank has no fixed bottom surface when rotating, in the process of grinding materials, the grinding ball in the tank is not only affected by two centrifugal forces of revolution and rotation, but also the gravity plays a certain role. The trajectory of all grinding balls is disorganized. When the machine runs at high speed, the grinding ball gets large enough impact energy, violently impact and grind the material, greatly improving the grinding effect and grinding efficiency. 

Horizontal planet ball mill can process mixing, fine grinding, sample preparation, new product development and small batch production of ultrafine tungsten powder and ultrafine tungsten carbide and nano tungsten sulfide, nano tungsten oxide, nano tungstate powder. As the ball milling tank is horizontal, there is no fixed bottom surface when rotating. The upper, bottom and tank walls of the grinding tank are grinding surfaces, which greatly improves the grinding efficiency. It solves the problem of the bottom portion of the material, avoid powder agglomeration, the problem of over-large size; relative to the preparation of chemical laboratory method of ball milling, it is more simple and environmentally friendly, the process is easy to control. 

Due to the complexity of the working principle, horizontal planetary ball mill specifications are difficult to be large, and can only exist in the laboratory for a long time. It is difficult to prepare and produce ultrafine tungsten powder by using planetary mill. In 2015, the research team of Nanjing Technology University designed a large horizontal planetary ball mill consisting of a horizontal planetary mill with 3 grinding cylinders and 1 traditional ball mill. After industrial verification it has been widely praised, perhaps this large machinery will soon be promoted.
