Special Lubricating Machine Oil For Turbocharged Engine

With the increasing demand for automotive performance, turbocharged engines have become popular. Turbo, referred to as T engine.

The T automobile engine works by burning the fuel in the cylinder of the engine, so as to output power externally. In the case of a certain engine displacement, the most effective way to increase the engine output power is to provide more fuel combustion. However, to provide enough air to support full combustion of fuel, conventional self-priming is impossible, and additional air compressors are needed to increase the intake.

Turbocharged engines originated from aviation technology, the biggest feature of supercharging is to increase the engine load, and then the temperature rises rapidly, the conventional turbine engine can easily reach 600°C after the start, and the turbine AVG technology will produce 1000°C. At this high temperature, the use of ordinary motive oil is undoubtedly a drop in the bucket, so the turbocharged motivation requires high standard of lubricating machine oil.

At present, the main lubricant used in aviation and aerospace is tungsten disulfide or molybdenum disulfide, tungsten sulfide has higher friction resistance, higher temperature resistance and better environmental strain capacity, the decomposition temperature in the atmosphere is 510°C, and oxidation at 539°C. It can be lubricated for a long time under 425°C and can be stabilized to 1150°C in vacuum, the friction coefficient in the atmosphere is 0.03, and the extreme pressure strength is 21.00MPa, which is about 100°C higher than that of molybdenum disulfide.

WS2 has excellent lubricity in engine oils, it is mainly due to the layered structure of WS2 and the FeS surface film formed by its reaction with the metal surface, adding 1% tungsten disulfide lubricant in the engine oil can make the operation of the turbocharged engine more stable, and it reduce exhaust emissions and optimize fuel consumption, the normal operation of the turbocharged engine requires the best high-temperature resistance lubricant, which needs to be shared by two tungsten sulfide.

The utilization rate of tungsten sulfide is not high, mainly because the raw material price of tungsten is expensive and the preparation procedure is complicated. In China, we don't have to worry about this kind of problem. Tungsten is an advantageous resource in China. The composition is only 1% of the lubricating oil, and it doesn't increase too much actual cost. Engine oil itself is also a kind of technology profiteering, oil engine manufacturers make the price by its performance, cost factors are basically not worth mentioning.
