Praseodymium Oxide Price - August 12, 2020

Rare earth market quotation in China: the lanthanum oxide, praseodymium oxide and dysprosium oxide prices are unchanged from the previous trading day in the middle of August.

Affected by the intertwining of positive and negative factors, suppliers are less willing to cut prices, while downstream users have a strong resistance to high prices due to limited spending power, so on-market trading activity is low. The listing price of rare earths in Southern Rare Earth rose slightly this week, and in Northern Rare Earth went up and down this month. It is worth noting that the prices of neodymium praseodymium products rose sharply.

Favorable factors: first, due to recent natural disasters such as mudslides and landslides, the difficulty of mining for rare earth smelting companies has been significantly increased, resulting in a decrease in overall output; second, with the support of the State Reserve, the holders are reluctant to sales; third, the recent strict environmental protection policies can also bring profit to the market to a certain extent.

Negative factors: first, some countries are still affected by the coronavirus and the geopolitical instability. Demand is difficult to boost, resulting in fewer domestic transactions; second, raw material prices are at relatively high levels under the global market economy downturn, which is also the cause of the sharp decline in the purchasing power of downstream users.
