Frequently Problems of Tungsten Copper Electrode New Technologies

Tungsten copper electrode has been concerned in worldwide field of science as widely used electrode by PM (Powder Metallurgy). Under conventional sintering conditions, tungsten and copper densification process is affected by insolubilization and low wettability of two metals, which structure, distribution, density and size can not reach ideal state. Although some new processes or technologies are emerging, such as rapid directional solidification, ultra-fine powder, FGA (functional gradient material) and so on, there still some problems remains as follow:

1. Relative research is not deep enough, the required equipments are expensive, the complicated process, difficult for machining.

2. The conditions and equipments are restricted.

3. The elements additives have an effect on thermal and electric conductivity of tungsten copper electrode.

4. Most researches focused on the preparation of high-performance composite material and the forming mechanism of tungsten copper has been neglected.
