I. Analysis of China Rare Earth Price Trends for September 2025

According to CTIA GROUP LTD Online, mainstream light and heavy rare earth products price trends in China for September 2025 showed pergence: praseodymium-neodymium prices experienced a gradual decline, while dysprosium-terbium prices rose initially and then fell, with end-of-month prices slightly lower than those at the beginning of the month.

In the light rare earth market, praseodymium-neodymium prices in September continued the oscillatory downward trend from late August, primarily due to the previous prolonged and significant rise in praseodymium-neodymium prices and weaker-than-expected downstream demand. However, with strong production cost support, the Federal Reserve's interest rate cut, and the rapid development of emerging industries, suppliers generally showed low willingness to reduce prices.

In the medium-heavy rare earth market, at the beginning of the month, influenced by increased downstream user procurement enthusiasm at lower prices and the prominent strategic status of metals, many holders raised their quotes, with terbium oxide seeing the most obvious increase, approximately 6.08%. Entering mid-to-late September, mainstream medium-heavy rare earth product prices turned downward, mainly due to the rapid price rise in the early month and declining market inquiry activity, weakening demand support.

In September 2025, the prices of most rare earth products in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. The average price of praseodymium oxide was 642,826 yuan per ton, increased by 9.24% month-on-month, increased by 50.11% year-on-year; the average price of neodymium oxide was 641,435 yuan per ton, increased by 9.90% month-on-month, increased by 49.78% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was 577,652 yuan per ton, increased by 1.33% month-on-month, increased by 36.39% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was 714,348 yuan per ton, increased by 2.45% month-on-month, increased by 36.18% year-on-year; the average price of terbium oxide was 7,232 yuan per kilogram, increased by 2.25% month-on-month, increased by 25.25% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was 1,627,391 yuan per ton, decreased by 0.39% month-on-month, decreased by 7.97% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was 1,584,783 yuan per ton, decreased by 0.42% month-on-month, decreased by 8.97% year-on-year.

In the third quarter, the prices of most rare earth products in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. The average price of praseodymium oxide was 573,866 yuan per ton, increased by 26.98% month-on-month, increased by 46.81% year-on-year; the average price of neodymium oxide was 568,313 yuan per ton, increased by 28.10% month-on-month, increased by 43.78% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was 540,642 yuan per ton, increased by 24.91% month-on-month, increased by 38.86% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was 663,701 yuan per ton, increased by 24.76% month-on-month, increased by 37.70% year-on-year; the average price of terbium oxide was 7,154 yuan per kilogram, increased by 1.46% month-on-month, increased by 31.87% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was 1,642,239 yuan per ton, decreased by 0.22% month-on-month, decreased by 6.23% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was 1,594,776 yuan per ton, decreased by 0.60% month-on-month, decreased by 7.36% year-on-year.

From January to September 2025, the prices of most rare earth products in China increased year-on-year. The average price of praseodymium oxide was 494,746 yuan per ton, increased by 25.35% year-on-year; the average price of neodymium oxide was 487,897 yuan per ton, increased by 24.06% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was 471,049 yuan per ton, increased by 22.19% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was 578,919 yuan per ton, increased by 21.17% year-on-year; the average price of terbium oxide was 6,830 yuan per kilogram, increased by 18.41% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was 1,658,838 yuan per ton, decreased by 12.02% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was 1,616,643 yuan per ton, decreased by 12.61% year-on-year.
