Baotou Rare Earth Prices Mostly Increased Month-on-Month in August 2025

According to recent news from the Baotou Industry and Information Technology Bureau, in August 2025, among the 47 industrial products under key monitoring in Baotou, on a month-on-month basis, the prices of 20 products, including cerium oxide, I-beam, A00 aluminum, and PVC, decreased; the price of 1 product, metallic lanthanum, remained stable; and the prices of 26 products, including rare earth carbonate, rebar, 1# magnesium ingot, monocrystalline silicon, and fluorite, increased. On a year-on-year basis, the prices of 21 products, including metallic lanthanum, pig iron, 1# magnesium ingot, and photovoltaic modules, decreased; and the prices of 26 products, including neodymium oxide, hot-rolled coil, A00 aluminum, and monocrystalline silicon, increased.

Among these, regarding Baotou rare earth prices in August 2025, among the 9 rare earth products under key monitoring, prices increased for 6, remained stable for 1, and decreased for 2 on a month-on-month basis, while prices increased for 8 and decreased for 1 on a year-on-year basis. The highest month-on-month and year-on-year increases were both for neodymium oxide, with an average price of 589,250 yuan per ton, increased by 106,188 yuan per ton (a 22.0% rise) month-on-month, and increased by 199,650 yuan per ton (a 51.2% rise) year-on-year.

According to CTIA GROUP LTD, in August 2025, the prices of most rare earth products in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. The average price of praseodymium oxide was 588,476 yuan per ton, increased by 19.71% month-on-month, increased by 51.03% year-on-year; the average price of neodymium oxide was 583,667 yuan per ton, increased by 21.30% month-on-month, increased by 49.80% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was 570,095 yuan per ton, increased by 19.58% month-on-month, increased by 48.23% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was 697,238 yuan per ton, increased by 19.71% month-on-month, increased by 46.16% year-on-year; the average price of terbium oxide was 7,073 yuan per kilogram, decreased by 1.09% month-on-month, increased by 32.01% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was 1,633,810 yuan per ton, decreased by 1.86% month-on-month, decreased by 6.76% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was 1,591,429 yuan per ton, decreased by 1.02% month-on-month, decreased by 7.84% year-on-year.

Among the 7 non-ferrous products under key monitoring in Baotou in August 2025, the largest month-on-month decrease was for 1# copper, with an average price of 79,145 yuan per ton, decreased by 265 yuan per ton (a 0.3% drop) month-on-month, increased by 6,079 yuan per ton (an 8.3% rise) year-on-year. The highest year-on-year increase was for prebaked anodes, with an average price of 5,359 yuan per ton, decreased by 10 yuan per ton (a 0.2% drop) month-on-month, increased by 1,010 yuan per ton (a 23.2% rise) year-on-year.
