Rare earth market update on September 22, 2025
On Monday, the domestic rare earth market overall remained lukewarm, with a subdued trading atmosphere and product prices fluctuating within a narrow range, amid low willingness from suppliers to reduce prices and limited consumption capacity among buyers.
Under these conditions, some industry insiders predict that the rare earth market may continue to trade sideways in the short term. Today, the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide, gadolinium oxide, and dysprosium oxide are approximately 570,000 yuan per ton, 170,000 yuan per ton, and 1,630,000 yuan per ton, respectively. It is understood that strong production cost support and the difficulty in increasing market spot supply have, to some extent, bolstered holders' firm pricing. However, downstream production enterprises, affected by tight liquidity and the completion of their previous phased procurement tasks, have shown reduced market purchasing demand in recent days.
In terms of news, on September 17, a symposium and strategic cooperation signing ceremony involving Northern Rare Earth, Jihua Shares, and Xingjihua Technology Group was held at the Baosteel Exhibition Center. This signing combines the resource and technological advantages of Baosteel Group and Northern Rare Earth with the robust industrial chain and market strengths of Jihua Shares and Xingjihua Technology Group. It is set to inject new momentum into the innovation of rare earth functional materials and the upgrading of the textile industry toward high-end applications, paving the way for a new pattern of win-win development.
