Rare Earth Prices - September 12, 2025

Rare earth market update on September 12, 2025

This week, domestic rare earth prices are exhibiting an overall oscillating downward trend, primarily due to insufficient downstream demand momentum.

However, influenced by limited increases in spot market supply and relatively optimistic industry expectations for future trends, some suppliers continue to maintain a strong reluctance to sell and a firm pricing stance.

According to CTIA GROUP LTD Online, this week, the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide decreased by approximately 44,000 yuan per ton, a decrease of 7.36%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal decreased by approximately 42,000 yuan per ton, a decrease of 5.68%; the price of terbium oxide decreased by approximately 260,000 yuan per ton, a decrease of 3.49%; the price of dysprosium oxide increased by approximately 10,000 yuan per ton, a decrease of 0.61%; the price of 55N neodymium-iron-boron blanks decreased by approximately 3 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 1.10%; and the price of neodymium-iron-boron scrap (praseodymium-neodymium) decreased by approximately 45 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 7.18%. This indicates that praseodymium-neodymium prices experienced a relatively large decline this week.

In terms of news, according to the Baotou Daily, recently, the first batch production demonstration line for rare earth super magnetostrictive material (Terfenol-D) in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was officially completed at Northern New Materials, marking a successful transition from "laboratory preparation" to "industrial application" in the field of high-end functional materials in Inner Mongolia.
