Terbium Oxide Price - July 22, 2021

China’s domestic rare earth market as a whole maintains an upward momentum with terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide prices continue to increase on July 22, 2021. Affected by the imbalance between supply and demand, the seller's market has a greater advantage, which is mainly reflected in the rising prices of praseodymium and dysprosium terbium products.

From the perspective of the supply side, first, the intensified rectification of the rare earth industry, the increase in power curtailment in many places and the increase in natural disasters have greatly interfered with the release of the production capacity of rare earth mining enterprises, thereby enhancing the confidence of holders to increase prices; second, the import volume is limited. In addition to the increased quarantine requirements for domestic imported goods, some overseas countries, such as Myanmar, have restricted exports due to political instability, which is also the main reason for the upward adjustment of domestic suppliers’ quotations.

From the demand side, in the context of carbon neutrality, the new energy industry is expected to develop well, which is the main reason why the demand for rare earth functional materials has increased and most industry players are optimistic about the market outlook.
