China Terbium Oxide Price - Aug. 10, 2020

Rare earth market quotation in China: the prices of terbium oxide, neodymium oxide and praseodymium neodymium oxide continue to rise in the week began on Monday 10, 2020 thanks to active inquiry from the downstream. But most suppliers are reluctant to sell, waiting for the best moment for maximum product profits.

In the light rare earth market, the fundamentals are relatively optimistic. Under the situation that some product inventories are not very sufficient, the holders have a strong sentiment to keep products in stocks and wait for a price increase, which stimulates the desire of downstream users to enter the market. It is difficult to find low-priced sources on the market; in the medium and heavy rare earth market, the price increase of mainstream products is smaller than that of light rare earth. In addition to the limited demand and policy support, the traders’ quotations are already relatively high and difficult to rise again.

The export of rare earth commodities was 1620.3 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 69.10% and a decrease of 43.98% from the previous month; the export value was RMB 180 million, a year-on-year decrease of 47.06% and a decrease of 14.28% from the previous month. This year, the total export of rare earth commodities was 2,2735.8 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 20.2%; the export value was RMB 1.48 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 23.7%, according to the date from the General Administration of Customs announced on August 7.
