China Rare Earth Price - May 29, 2020

The rare earth price in China remains stable in the last trading day of May. Although there are many positive signs in the market, the macroeconomic and demand sides are slightly weakened by the impact of the new coronavirus epidemic, which makes it difficult for buyers to enter the market.

In the light rare earth market, the fundamentals are stable. Downstream magnetic material companies' low stocking enthusiasm is still the main factor that inhibits the increase in the quotations of the holders. In the context of the support of the Two Sessions and energy conservation and emission reduction, many sellers are reluctant to sell and have a strong sense of rising. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, prices keep firm with the support of the introduction of new energy vehicle consumption stimulus policies, the US side suspending funding for Lynas to build a rare earth separation plant in the United States, and banned imports from Myanmar. The news offsets the pressure caused by insufficient demand.
