Molybdenum market quotation in China: the latest prices of ferro molybdenum, molybdenum concentrate and molybdenum oxide climbed slightly from last week due to tightening availability of molybdenum ores, the rise in prices and quantity of steel tenders and active trading activity.

It was reported that China’s Jinduicheng Molybdenum Group was shut down owing to production safety accidents of production line of some molybdenum furnace products, which greatly affects the supply of raw materials and thus boosts molybdenum prices.

For the steel biddings, Baosteel issued buy tenders for 450 tons of ferro molybdenum at RMB 115,000-115,200/t; a steel mill in Jiangsu issued buy tender for 360 tons at RMB 117,500/t; Xiangtan Iron & Steel Co., called for bids for 90 tons at RMB 117,500/t.
